Her spirit of giving lives on...

Michele was born with cystic fibrosis in Germany. It wasn’t until she was 16 years old and living in Arizona that she was diagnosed with the disease. In October 2007, at age 34, she received a double-lung transplant at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix. She was their ninth transplant, and she was immediately healthier than she could remember at any time in her life. Elated at the new life she was given, she, her caregiver and another lung transplant patient and their caregiver, created the Lung Transplant Support Organization (LTSO), based here in Phoenix.

Michele has since passed, but her spirit of giving lives on in the LTSO, which exists to help lung transplant patients that receive their transplant or their care here in the Metropolitan area. They may be contacted at www.gotmask.org.
