We will always keep his memory alive...

Matthew was an old soul who loved fishing, hiking, and just being out in nature. He was a caring son and brother, and always protected anyone in need. He had just graduated from U of A from the business school and was looking forward to starting a career. He will forever be missed by his family and good friends, and we will always keep his memory alive.

Some of my favorite memories with Matthew were the 4 years I was able to live with him in college. I will always remember the fun times we shared together during those years

My absolute favorite times with Matthew were these… one time I picked him up from getting his retainers. He put them in and in the car he started talking with the usual lisp that happens when kids first get them… he starts yelling “Vicki!! I can’t talk like thisssssss!!” Hahaha. He was so funny!! The second one is when I picked him up and he told me about how he hated playing sports and he just wanted to fish! Matthew lives on with all of us and I cherish all the little moments we shared with him. Watching him grow up and the relationships he created with everyone continues to warm my heart. Love you kiddo. “I just want a salad” - another of our little memories.

Matt, Started as a deckhand on my charter fishing boat at about 16 years old. His Mom and Dad would bring him to the boat in the dark of early morning He was a hard worker who learned how to mix it up with adults and have fun He was a great help is very much missed

My son was the absolute sweetest little boy. I remember his preschool teachers being amazed that every morning he would tell them what a beautiful day it was. Such a sensitive soul, we couldn't watch any shows or movies where any vehicles of any kind were destroyed. He took Bear Bear everywhere, and was always happy to have me around to fish, play baseball, help in class or drive on field trips. I watched him grow from a shy kid who didn't want to meet anyone new, to being the recruiting leader for his fraternity. He learned what hard work was when working on his fishing charter boat, and never looked back. As he grew into a young man, he became protector and friend to his sisters that he used to love to terrorize. I loved watching "the sillies" hang out and go on their late night runs for ice cream together. I have such wonderful memories, and will cherish them. It wasn't nearly a long enough time with him, but I am so thankful for the time I had. I love you always Matthew.

Matthew was a great kid. I was able to watch him develop into a fine young man who I looked forward spending time with. Unfortunately, he was taken from us, unexpectedly, way too soon. I miss and think of him every day. We would sit in the spa, have a couple of beers, and talk about his future. I’ll never forget him.

I think about Matthew every day, and talk to him often too. He cared a lot about others, whether it was his family, his friends, new members of his fraternity, or even a dog that needed a home. He didn’t need to be the center of attention to have a good time, and he smiled and laughed easily. One thing that stands out about him is his incredible personal growth as a teenager and adult. He overcame a lot and established himself as successful, well-liked leader with a caring and close group of friends. Matthew, we miss you, we are grateful we got to be with you on your life journey, and we will always remember you with love.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about Matthew - and all my favorite memories with him. He was the epitome of an older brother: there to make you laugh, there to protect you, there to drive you to get a burrito at midnight, there to play Fortnite duos with you when you couldn't win by yourself, just anything and everything. I miss him dearly, but use everyday as an opportunity to live for Matthew. I love you and miss you so much Tossy Bear. <3

Matthew was the best brother. He always looked out for my sister and I and all of his friends. I will forever cherish the memories I have with him and I miss him every day. He never failed to make me along with everyone around him laugh with his great stories and his humor. He is the reason I am able to get through my toughest days. I will always keep pushing for you Matthew. I love you and I miss you so much.
