Daniel Nicholas Alejandro, Donor
He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh...
My son was Daniel Nicholas Alejandro, who passed away in July 2025. It’s been a few months since his passing, but it’s taken me up to this time to start responding to all the kind condolences my son received. Thank you so much for your letter telling us about how many lives Daniel changed and saved by being a donor. It was so helpful and healing to us to hear even in his passing, how in his final act, he was able to help others.
I would also like to share with you a little bit about the life of this amazing young man, my son. Daniel passed away in July in a hiking accident. He had just celebrated his 21st birthday a few days earlier. Daniel was a high school band leader and Boy Scout member. He had an infectious, big smile, gentle hugs and kind soul. He had a certain energy that drew people to him, and he made many good friends.
After high school, he earned a scholarship and attended Arizona State University for one year to learn about musical engineering. His interest in music transformed into a focus on spiritual growth and his Christian faith, where he decided to pursue a vocational path in church ministry, dedicating his life to helping others in need. He truly became a young man dedicated to his faith. He had just returned from a church mission trip to Mexico building homes for the poor a few weeks before his passing.
He loved to cook and always managed to dial up the spice level on everything he made. Pasta and curry dishes were some of his favorites in the apartment he shared with his brother. His first real job was working with his brother in a high-end retail clothing store. He was loved by the entire team he worked with, and he even closed the store on the day of his funeral. Daniel had strong work values and was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his positive energy. Daniel had incredible patience and always made time to help others. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh.
