I love you, stupid....

My brother, Anthony, was dealt a cruddy hand. He searched and searched for something his entire life and no matter what happened, he stayed kind when the world wasn’t. He loved Pokémon, Star Wars, skateboarding and helping others. Three days prior to his death, I was leaving to spend the weekend at a friend’s house three hours away. That morning as I worked on cleaning my car, he drove next to the house and talked to me for a few minutes, and I excused myself to throw some trash away. He told me that when I came back he would be asleep. I came back out of the house to finish cleaning, and I found him asleep in his car, right behind the wheel, so I left for my trip. The morning as I prepared to leave, I got the call that my brother had passed away in his car. I believe he unknowingly tried to warn me and tell me goodbye. 

My brother was always my hero. He gave me my name, taught me how to tie my shoes, how to ride a bike and most importantly how to persevere and be kind when the world is not.  

I hope he has now become somebody else’s hero.
