On the morning of October 5, 2003 our beautiful son and brother chose to end his life. That afternoon we received a call from Donor Network of Arizona. I wish I could remember the name of the young man who called; he was so compassionate and caring. I remember thinking what a hard thing it would be to call a family who has been devastated by the suicide of a loved one: a son, a brother, a friend who was loved by so many people but who could not find it in himself to reach out to anyone. Thank you to that young man who called and to Donor Network for their caring and support and for stressing the importance of organ and tissue donation.
